About me ... and web standards
I admit it — I used to use tables and frames. But that was in 1999.
Now it's strict XHTML, CSS and jQuery all the way.
I can't remember exactly when the penny dropped, but I started reading Jeffrey Zeldman, Eric Meyer, amongst others, and decided that it was web standards or nothing. It used to be exciting when a major site was redesigned and we all rushed to validate the code. Those were the days :)
Anyway, since then, I have been an evangelist for web standards, and have mentored and trained other developers.
One of the first things that I did when I joined Proctor and Stevenson was to rebuild their website using standards-compliant XHTML. Well, actually, I showed another developer how to do it. Teach a man to fish, and all that.
